These systems fit 1999-2002 with lower rear valance that has no exhaust provision. Newer vehicles (2002.5-2005) may backdate to the older rear valance to use this system.
Every thing fit very nice the quality is very good. The sound is loud at idle (sounds good) and at highway speed there is no droning. The only thing I think should be different is the turn down should extend a little further towards the rear of the vehicle like the factory pipes.

The only problems I had were the fact that removing the factory exhaust required two cuts, one before and one after the axle, and one of pipes at the slip joint was slightly out of round, most likely from the shipping. Construction quality is outstanding, fitment is spot on, and it sounds good.
The construction of this exhaust is very solid and with the two piece construction, installation is quite easy and straightforward with the vehicle on jackstands (the old exhaust had to be cut out due to the bends and lack of clearance). The exhaust was not packaged to prevent the tip from resting on the ground with the box standing on end, so it arrived with the tip dented. Once installed, I realized that the intake end of the exhaust is radiused down to 2 inches. If you have upgraded to a 2.5 inch downpipe and were planning to use this exhaust system, it will require finding a short 304 slip fit coupling and extra compression fittings and hacking up the exhaust. I was very disappointed about this as the exhaust is fairly useless the way it is configured and there is no mention of this in the listing. What is the point of running a larger exhaust with the stock downpipe and cat? If you want the looks, save a few hundred dollars and run an exhaust tip and just tell everyone its a 2.5 inch or 3 inch exhaust. There will be no appreciable or noticable gains. There may be a placebo effect, but you can convince yourself that the exhaust tip does the same thing as a larger cat back and see the same 'results'. I contacted the sales department, we'll see how they handle this situation. This is my only vehicle and I can deal with another week or two of downtime while I send this back and wait for a replacement.

I am sorry you received the tip with a dent, we try hard to package these well but sometimes exhaust boxes are dropped by the shipper which causes these types of problems. The front inlet tube is reduced down to 55mm for a good reason and that is to fit the stock VW slip connector for a bolt on fitment. BTW this does not affect performance in any way :-)
Total time to install was 1.5 hours. This is a quality product, everything bolted up exactly where the stock exhaust was. Sound wise the exhaust note was slightly louder and lower, better than stock but not obnoxious!
I installed this system a few weeks ago and the fit, finish and quality is top notch. Sounds and performs great so far :-)
