Rear chassis flex is a known weak point in the Mk7 and later Golf platform. Under hard cornering, the rear subframe area can flex enough to cause tire scrub, reduced grip, and the characteristic creaks and rattles common to hatchbacks. The Euro Sport Rear X-Brace triangulates this area, stiffening the chassis and reducing unwanted movement.
